Welded gabions are rigid box-shaped stone cages made by welding steel wires together at every intersection of longitudinal and transverse wires. This welding method creates uniform, high-precision mesh openings. Unlike flexible double-twisted woven gabions, welded gabions have higher rigidity while still forming permeable monolithic structures once filled with stone. They are widely used for retaining walls, channel linings, revetments, fencing and decorative architectural cladding.
